We hope you are well during these uncertain and unique times. Many of you will have had some time in our much loved Temagami this year, some of you have not. Our thoughts are with you all. FOT has had a busy, successful year, albeit troubled with COVID-19 and the unusual times we are all in.
We have had to make the difficult move to cancel our FOT AGM 2020 plans at Smoothwater this year due to COVID - 19 restrictions in place by the province. We will move forward with the same AGM date on Oct. 17th, 2020 @ 0900 on Zoom (details to follow in email to members). The meeting will follow our previous format for the most part. We have been working hard to adjust and revamp plans, and it will be kept flexible and mostly informal as usual.
FOT Board of Directors - Nominations and Elections
There are five (5) Board of Directors positions open for this coming three (3) year term. Most of the current Directors have expressed an interest in continuing to work with FOT in a Director capacity, some may not. The FOT BOD has fourteen positions, and for the last five (5) years or so years all 14 position have been filled. We do not require a full 14 Directors, yet the option is open and available nominations and elections (if required). Any FOT member in good standing can nominate any other FOT member in good standing for a Director position. The process includes requiring a seconding of the nomination, and the nominee’s acceptance. We will handle this process simply with a discussion with the nominee and will offer a second, along with the nominee’s acceptance. We will then fill the open positions through acclamation, or a vote at the beginning of the FOT AGM on Zoom. The Directors vote will be held at ~ 0930 AM.

Proxy Voting
If you are unable to attend, you may still vote by proxy. As a member in good standing of the Friends of Temagami you have the option of assigning another member your proxy vote. You may designate your proxy to any other FOT member in good standing. We will send out a list of Directors who will be in attendance at this year’s meeting along with a proxy form in the next day or two. Simply reply to the email with the name of the FOT member you want to assign your proxy to. We do have a requirement to meet quorum of 1/5 of the FOT membership, so assigning your proxy is most important to us.
If you have not renewed your FOT membership this year, we would be most pleased if you did soon. We will be sending out a reminder shortly to those members that are due.
It is unfortunate that we will not be able to meet in person this year, yet it will allow us to reach and include any FOT member that would like to join us or participate in the AGM. It will be great progress for the organization. We hope you are able to join us for the day, or any part of the meeting. We will be sending out correspondence with update and news after the AGM in case you are unable to join us.
We will have a social time at the end of the general meeting (mid-afternoon).
