The Friends of Temagami are pleased to announce Jim Baird and Tori Sweeting as guest speakers at our Annual General Meeting at Smoothwater Lodge on Oct. 14, 2017.
Jim and Tori, along with their adventure pup, Buck, have paddled and snowshoed in the Temagami area for several years. The couple has completed numerous northern river wilderness expeditions by canoe together, writing and filming their experiences for publications such as Field & Stream and Canoe & Kayak magazine. Jim (and his brother, Ted) won the fourth season of History Channel’s Alone. Jim completed the first-recorded solo self-propelled trek across the Ungava peninsula on foot with his dog Buck in 2016.
This summer, Jim, Tori and Buck tackled an 8-day trek through the Rockies before paddling NWT’s Mountain River through the Mackenzie Mountain range.
From canoeing wild rivers to winter camping in Temagami at 40 below zero, this adventurous couple has numerous stories to share about life on the trail. The Friends of Temagami are very excited to welcome Jim and Tori to our Annual General Meeting and are looking forward to a very entertaining presentation.
