Ideal as a canoe trip planner, the 42"x52", 1:100,000 Temagami Adventure Planning Map shows over 4,000 km of canoe routes, 1,450 portages, 1,100 campsites, 53 access points, 40 viewpoints, 14 provincial parks, 21 conservation reserves and 10 hiking trail networks. Uniquely, it includes field notes highlighting special features, and over 30 significant and accessible stands of old-growth pine forest. The map shows two categories of portages. Most travellers will be able to find and follow “In Use” Portages, though the trail quality may vary. “Other” Portages may be overgrown, destroyed by logging or other development, or we just don’t know — some will be passable, others will not.
