Friends of Temagami (FOT) is appealing to you because of your interest in Temagami conservation, recreational canoeing and camping and we believe that you might be interested in learning more about FOT and the advocacy work we are involved in for the long term protection of the Temagami experience. FOT is similar to other 'Friends' groups that are dedicated to the preservation of unique regions of interest across our Province. FOT provides the legal framework to shape our group as per our member's direction. Our area of concern is the greater Temagami district that is synonymous with back country wilderness recreation. This spans from the Chiniguchi Watershed east to the Ottawa River on the Temiskaming Shores, From the Makobe and Montreal Rivers in the north, south to Martin, Temagami and Sturgeon Rivers. As is the case with any Non- Profit Organization, FOT relies on volunteers, not only for group projects but also to attend ongoing commitments to the various initiatives and committees. Can you help? Would you consider becoming a member of FOT? Volunteer? Make a financial donation ? Donations large or small make a difference in FOT's ability to continue to react to the stresses on the environment, and the effects on recreation and healthy watersheds. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and your time supporting us is vital in moving ahead. FOT would appreciate if you would pass this request on to the attention of friends who may wish to become involved. A strong membership is essential for expanding the work we do to protect and promote the outstanding natural values of the greater Temagami area. We invite you to become part of this growing organization and to share with us the satisfaction of seeing the positive results of your support.
