Temagami Forest

Starting on Anima Nipissing Lake, this route passes the base of the Anima Nipissing fire tower on Head (Robert) Lake. It continues through Little Gillies Lake, Gilchrist Creek, and Island (Isobar) Lake before ending in Greenwood Provincial Park on Bay Lake. Of particular concern is the portage from Gilchrist Creek to Island Lake, immediately south of Liskeard Lumber and Grant Forest Products’ Block 25, a small harvest block estimated at 3 km2. This portage is recognized by the MNR as a Cultural Heritage Trail. Restoration work has already begun on this route.
